I started my career with a desk job and quickly realized working in an office wasn’t for me. I had several friends who were nurses and I began taking classes in the evenings after work. I loved interacting with patients and spent several years working as an ICU and labor & delivery nurse before deciding I wanted to do more to help patients – that led me to become a nurse practitioner.
I have spent the past several years working with patients in a medical weight loss program and I find it incredibly rewarding to see patients succeed on their weight loss journey. I help my patients set small goals and give them the tools to meet those goals. I believe in a holistic approach to medicine and work with my patients to create lasting lifestyle changes that are realistic for them. Weight loss is about so much more than a number on the scale and I love to celebrate with patients who have hit health milestones, like coming off of long-term medications or seeing a drop in cholesterol. I try to be supportive and non-judgmental and my patients tell me they find me friendly and approachable.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, cycling with my husband and keeping up with my middle-schooler’s tae kwon do and cross country events.
