Dr. Stephen Burpee is a native of Canada. He received his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario.
Dr. Patrick Chiasson
Dr. Patrick Chiasson migrated to Tucson from Canada. He received his medical education at McGill University, a Master’s Degree from the Institute for History of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University, and his general surgical training at Dalhousie University.

I started my career with a desk job and quickly realized working in an office wasn’t for me. I had several friends who were nurses and I began taking classes in the evenings after work. I loved interacting with patients and spent several years working as an ICU and labor & delivery nurse before deciding I wanted to do more to help patients – that led me to become a nurse practitioner.

Northwest Allied Bariatric and Foregut Surgery
Patrick Chiasson, M.D. and Stephen Burpee, M.D. are Board Certified General Surgeons with additional sub-specialty fellowship training in minimally invasive surgery. Their surgical interests include the application of advanced laparoscopic, endoluminal, and other new techniques to manage diseases of the colon and rectum, solid organ conditions, and diseases of the esophagus and stomach with a special interest in weight loss surgery. Dr. Burpee and Dr. Chiasson offer four weight loss surgery procedures including vertical sleeve gastrectomy, duodenal switch, gastric bypass and the intragastric ballon procedure. Dr Chiasson and Dr. Burpee are members of the medical staff at Northwest Medical Center.
